Claire’s Corner

Well, here we are at the end of another season. Usually, at this point, I take the extra time leading up to the Super Bowl and look back to assess the advice that I’ve provided for the last 20 weeks. In the aggregate, I think I did a remarkable job this year. Now, I know that some of you are going to focus on one game, or one piece of advice, and think that I let you down. But you can’t pick and choose where my advice is concerned. You have to be all-in. So let’s talk about the big game. As usual, I’ll be having some sweet buffalo wings, nachos and maybe a big, juicy Philly cheesesteak sandwich with onions, peppers, and two kinds of cheese. And I’ll be cheering for the Eagles, but in this football pool, I will be picking the Chiefs because I’ve been burned too many times this season picking against them. Also, since many of you focus on the commercials, I’ve already reviewed all of them. If you like the sentimental ones, pay attention to the Lays and the Budweiser ads. On the funny side, I liked the Coors Light (sloths) and Hellmann’s commercials. There’s also a series of Uber Eats ads that are entertaining. Finally, on the last competition of the season, specific to the big game, consider this advice: Yes, both teams will have the lead in the first half, the Eagles will score the first touchdown, and Travis Kelce will not score a touchdown. You’re welcome.
